MSSU Student Trip

College and career readiness is one of the hottest topics in K-12 education today.  As the demands of the workforce change, it is becoming more clear that high school graduates need some post-secondary education or training to be competitive in today's job market.  Whether this training takes place at a community college, four year university, trade school or through an apprenticeship or the military; the Greenfield R-IV School District is excited when graduates take the initiative to continue their education.

In an attempt to encourage high school students to think about their options after graduation, administration and faculty members at the high school are doing what they can to promote college and career readiness.  Recently the Junior and Senior classes were invited to attend a college visit to Missouri Southern State University.   Students attending were provided a tour from a campus tour guide, were able to eat lunch with current college students at one of the campus cafeterias, were provided an opportunity to listen to an admissions counselor and received information on how to apply for scholarships.  Brielle Breedlove, the district counselor, planned and organized the trip.

When asked about the trip, Mrs. Breedlove said, "We had twenty seven juniors and seniors attend this visit. The students were respectful, asked questions, and represented Greenfield proudly.  We split up into two groups and toured the campus. Our tour guides shared their personal experience at Missouri Southern and gave us information about areas located on campus. I feel the visit has helped to open a new perspective for our Senior class."

The Greenfield R-IV School District would like to say "Thank You" to MSSU for providing our students with information and guidance that will make their post-graduation decision easier.

Students who attended included:
