Dear Parents,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents who are interested in revitalizing our PTO program here at the Elementary. PTO is a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children.
Working together we can truly make a difference in our children that will leave a positive imprint in their lives. If you are able to give some time, day or evening please join the PTO. Many hands make the job easier.
Tuesday, October 9th at 4:00 in the elementary library will be our kick-off meeting. We will discuss upcoming events and make a plan of action for the month of October and November. We will need to select the following positions:
PTO president--Leader of the Pack--creative problem solver
Vice president--Partner in Crime--behind the scenes intel and decision maker
Secretary--Fact Finder--record keeping skills, attention to detail
Treasurer--Number Cruncher, categorize expenses and creating color coded pie charts
If you are interested in serving as an officer for the PTO, please submit a 1 page reflection explaining your interests of where you would like to serve.
Role of the PTO
Plan and assist in the organization of fundraisers, room parents for classroom parties, book fairs, parent teacher conferences and activity nights. The PTO will meet once a month to discuss school programs and upcoming events. The PTO is another way to find out what is happening at our school and how you can be involved. Research is clear, increasing parent involvement is a huge positive impact in the academic outcome of our students.
