This year, Greenfield Elementary has a new organization for curious, creative students who love problem solving and challenges to get involved in an extracurricular activity: Coding Club! Students in Coding Club will learn computer coding skills by having fun coding simple software and developing their own simple video games. According to the World Economic Forum, up to 65% of students currently enrolled in elementary school will have jobs that don’t even exist yet. Many of these jobs will be in technology-related fields, yet many computer coders don’t begin learning how to code until college. That needs to change! The mission of Coding Club is to empower students with valuable computer coding and technology skills that will give them a competitive edge as they enter the workforce of tomorrow through fun coding projects which allow student creativity and imagination to soar. Students are eligible for Coding Club based on teacher recommendation and must keep current with school work in order to participate. We are excited to start this journey with our students and see where their imaginations lead them in their innovative projects! Sponsor Kristi Blankenship
