The Lady Wildcats Basketball Team enjoyed a night out to the Drury Lady Panthers vs. William Jewell game last night. Thank you to Glen Kramer for donating the game tickets and Pat Taylor and family for treating the girls to dinner and Andy's! What a fun way to wrap up the season!
Mark your calendars for a fun filled evening!
Juniors and Seniors received hands only CPR training this afternoon. CPR training teaches our students life saving skills that can be useful in any environment or situation they may encounter. Great job preparing our kids, Nurse Natasha!
The Wildcats will be taking on Miller in the first round of District play today, 2/25! Let's go boys!
Due to an influx of sickness, we would like to go over our policy on illness as well as a few ways to help protect your family from everything currently going around (we are mostly seeing strep, a stomach virus and the flu at this time).
Illness — Healthy children are better learners; therefore, please DO NOT send children to school if they have a FEVER, DIARRHEA, OR HAVE VOMITED. If your child has vomited or experienced diarrhea, he/she must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. Children must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning to school. We will send your student home if they have a fever of 101.0 degrees or above (or less if your student is symptomatic). It is also recommended that you send a water bottle to school with your student to stay hydrated.
How To Protect You and Your Family from the Flu & other sickness
Get the Flu Vaccine
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and throw the tissue in the trash after using it. If you do not have a tissue, cover your coughs and sneezes with the inside of your elbow, not your bare hands.
Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
If you are sick with flu-like illness, it is recommended that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone.
While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
Disinfect your environment, especially during sickness.
Build your immune system by eating fruits/veggies, exercising regularly, get adequate sleep, taking vitamins (specifically C, B6 and E).
Medications — Any medication (prescription and over the counter) must be brought to the school by a parent/guardian and given to the nurse. Students are NOT allowed to bring or transport any types of medication to school in their backpacks. This is to keep everyone safe. Please contact Nurse Natasha if you have any questions or refer to our handbook.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at 417-637-5921 ext. 1212 or through email at nmyers@greenfieldr4.org

In Environmental Science, students made "biobottles" that were self sustaining biomes in a bottle. These were the top 3. Great work, kids!

5th Grade students have been hard at work studying different Native American groups and their cultures. Students were expected to gather information out of their textbooks and encyclopedias to put together a compare/contrast essay. Great project Mrs. Roberts!
